Fonts and images make your website look better and nicer. If you choose them right your audience will feel more at ease and that will improve their experience on your website.
This is going to be a short post, but an extremely important one to build a perfect website. So please read carefully!
You have made the decision of building your own website. Squarespace vs WordPress. Which one should I choose?
A million dollar question! 🙂
There are more website builders around, but for this blog post I’d like to focus in particular on these two.
Also notice that here I refer to wordpress.org and not wordpress.com. I won’t go into details on how these two differ but to give you an idea with WordPress.org, you host your own blog or website. WordPress.com, on the other hand, takes care of all of the hosting for you. You don’t have to download software, pay for hosting, or manage a web server.
If you have already worked on defining your brand, then you most likely have already picked your color palette. Choosing a color scheme is a big step on how to design a website. It doesn’t just represent your business but it evokes emotions in your visitors.
I know you might be thinking that you are not artistic, not creative, but I can tell you, you don’t need to be an artist to create compelling visual content and choose the winning color scheme for your website. You still need to have a bit of knowledge though. So learn what each color represents. Read about the psychology of colors. Later, you’ll find a small list with few meanings but there is a lot more on the internet about this topic.
Your homepage is most likely the first page that your visitors will see when they land on your website. And considering that the first impression matters a lot, you really want to ensure that your homepage design works effectively.
In a few words, you can compare your homepage to a shop window. Imagine you are walking down a street and you see a shop with a very interesting shop window, most likely you will want to enter to see more no? Similarly, your audience’s attention should capture by a homepage that will make them want to know more. So your homepage is your shop window. From the homepage, your visitors should understand straight away what your business is about. It’s not just about style, but also how you structure the message you want them to receive. Take your time to design an effective homepage that is clear and which also makes it easy for visitors to navigate around your site.
Here are few tips to build a very effective homepage.

In order to build the right website, it is essential to know exactly what your business is about and where it is going. It sounds easy, but it isn’t always so. A business has to be positioned well, has to be distinct, it should be based on the owner’s core values and so on and so forth. There are so many things to consider. Probably another good topic for a blog post 🙂 Continue reading “Aurora Design Co. Website Design”
